Stepping out of my comfort zone.. one step at a time

I have decided to do some walking.  I’ll be walking in hopes to start conversations with people about what they are passionate about, what injustices they are opposed to and how they can be inspired to take action.

This is part of my personal journey to learn how to creatively love my neighbor as myself, so we can call it a pilgrimage if we have to call it anything.  The long term goal is to walk across the entire state of Texas but I’ll start a bit smaller.  That being said (crazy right?!?) the support and encouragement I’ve already received has been a pleasant blend of humility and excitement!

SO my first walk will be the Living Water International World Water Day 5K (sign up here).  After that I’ll be making my way from Conroe to College Station, it’s about 70 miles so thinking it might take me 4 to 5 days (I’ve never walked that far so that’s a guesstimate).  After that there will be other walks on the schedule, just have to figure out what that’s going to look like.img_20160915_230013.jpg

I am fortunate to be surrounded by people that love me and are willing to help me achieve my goals.  We have also started a company that will inspire creativity and spread a positive message so stay tuned for more details with that!  I can honestly say that since I have allowed God to work in my life there is an excitement in becoming the best person I can be and encourage the same in others.

Seeking to learn how to “love my neighbor as myself” has inspired positive change and new challenges.  Follow the blog to stay in touch on this incredible adventure we call life.
THANKS FOR BEING AWESOME!

  1. Your are so inspiring Shayne, you will discover things about yourself on your journey. I love getting outdoors and walking with friends and family you see so much more than traveling in a car. I belong to a group who walk all over different areas of Sydney along waterways and trails around our harbor. Enjoy your journey. Alana Otto
