5k kickoff… a picture story!

What a great day!  The Captshayne.blog crew met in Houston for Living Water International’s first annual World Water Day 5k to kickoff my pilgrimage.  I was joined by family and friends at the event along with virtual walkers and prayer warriors at home. The amount of support, encouragement and inspiration that has been given to me so far is definitely Heaven sent!   Upon reflection of the past month I have been humbled and truly realize how blessed I am to have so many wonderful people in my life.

Anyways enough about me.. lets get to the goods!  I’m going to let the pictures tell the story and see how that goes, after all it is my blog and I determine what it looks like 🙂

Living Water International was the host for the World Water Day 5k, they did a great job.  I will be volunteering for them without a doubt and recommend the organization if you’re looking for a place to donate time or money!

Jeannie and me, she’s been a great friend and supporter since we first met 8 years ago, I was her scuba instructor!  LOVE YA PAL 🙂

Fun with Brittany and Megan, showing off the Captshayne.blog shirts.  HUGE thanks to Texas Bluewater Promos for being our title sponsor for the day and the super awesome shirts!!!  I would also like to thank Alisha with LifewithAlisha.com for the HELO, amazing, check it out!

We started in the back lol!!!

WE DID IT!!!!!

I would like to thank each and everyone one of you for believing in me.  You see this isn’t just about me walking, in fact that is just a small part of whats going on.  I have learned a lot in the past month about myself and my faith.  2 years ago I prayed the scary prayer of God I desire Your Will for my life, looking back I’m pretty sure I was still hesitant and it took some time for me to understand and realize that I needed to totally surrender.  You hear it all the time but its different when its your personal journey.

So you are now experiencing and joining me in a pilgrimage for me to learn how to Love God with all my heart, soul and mind and Love my neighbor as myself.  Lace up your shoes, I have a beautiful feeling things are just getting started, exciting times ahead!  Thank you for taking the time to read the blog, please share if you feel inclined and I’m always excited for your feedback and comments.  YOU ARE AWESOME AND I LOVE YOU!

  1. Wow sounds like you had your first real experience of what it feels like to be happy with yourself and everyone you run into. This will be a wonderful year of true growth and fulfilling something that will bring people aware of so many issues that seem to be over looked by many.
